Margaret Evans is one of the UK’s leading art tutors, and widely renowned for her pastel work.

Born in Glasgow, Margaret graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1974, before obtaining a teaching qualification from London University.

She lives in rural Perthshire, and her work has featured in numerous UK and International art magazines. Margaret has written several books on pastel drawing, together with several painting videos which are distributed worldwide. Margaret promotes and endorses pastels as a serious & worthy medium, as they can be used in dry or wet techniques, developed like oils or acrylics.

Margaret has learnt to use bolder tones & colour in her work, inspired by great artists she has met along the way. Her influences have widened, her style has loosened and her mind is open to new ways to express herself as a painter, whether through love of pastel, watercolour sketches, or oil painting
