Katy Eccles
Katy Eccles is the maker behind Imprint Casts- bespoke, miniature botanical casts made using flowers and foliage hand-picked from her Mother’s ‘Garden of Eden’, in Fife.
All of Imprint’s casts are formed using the same distinctive process and are solely handmade. The imprint is first taken in clay, and is then preserved in plaster, after the flora is peeled from the clay to leave its delicate impression behind. ‘Seed by seed and petal by petal.’ Casting is a labour-intensive process that requires huge amounts of patience to achieve a crisp, blemish free finish in the final cast.
Katy’s casts work to capture a moment in time; her bespoke services allow her customers to preserve not just the special flowers themselves, but the precious moments that they represent.
‘Celebrating the transient beauty of the natural world by preserving botanical forms to create unique artwork.’
