Joe McIntyre
Born in 1940 in Dundee, Joe studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art. He received several prestigious Scholarships including that of The Royal Scottish Academy, and has lectured in Fine Art since 1972.
Inspired by the evocative paintings of American artist Edward Hopper, Joe masterfully creates his atmospheric observations of everyday life which offer timeless appeal. His preoccupation with chiaroscuro, the contrast of light and shade, achieves at once a richness and warmth that make him one of Scotland’s most successful artists, with works within many collections both at home and abroad.
