Doreen Davis
Doreen Davis Frew studied Drawing & Painting at the Glasgow School of Art from 1963 to 1967. After taking some time away from painting to raise her children and to teach for 24 years, retirement gave her the opportunity to take up the brushes again. Working in both oils and acrylic, Doreen specialises in landscapes, still life, portraiture, and figurative work. It is the vibrant colours and expressive paint application that bring her work together, and this is what she has become known for.
Doreen is still based in Glasgow and is a member of The Glasgow Art club, the Paisley art Institute and the Glasgow society of women artists
Her work can be found in galleries across the UK and in the public collections of Strathclyde University, Princeton University and Renfrewshire Education Authority.
