Agama Creative

Julia Elliot’s work in copper matte Raku is the culmination of a 17 year long journey. Ranging from representational and colorful figurines, these sculptures enable the artist to create character and movement, from cats to show jumpers.

Pushing the boundaries of clay, Agama Creative utilizes the strength and malleability of the material to create dynamic works which can withstand the thermal shock of the Raku process. The playful nature of these sculptures encourages engagement and a recognition from the viewer, from the grace of a sight hound, to the strength of a Red Deer Stag.

Julia’s copper matte glazes manage to encompass an entire colour palette- from muted hues to a rainbow sheen, depending upon where you stand- making for a truly unique work. The Raku firing process is unpredictable and each result can produce a different colour and finish- which is part of the fun for Julia.

The Agama Creative studio is based in the mountains of North Wales, and works can be found at shows around the country.
