“Categorising my work has always troubled me but I have settled on ‘textural art’ as the best description of my use of mixed mediums to create contemporary artwork with a rustic charm.
I trained as an Interior Designer at Manchester metropolitan University and then worked for several architects, but my passion was always for art.
Then I met Framer Tom and everything changed, I moved to Scotland and became a framers wife! From Interior Designing to lambing!
In my new farm surroundings, painting animals was a natural progression. My experimental use of different materials like fabric samples and plaster helps me add texture, character and brings the pictures out from the canvas.
I started doing local craft markets as an outlet for my artwork and have slowly worked up exhibiting at galleries throughout the UK.”
