Annette was born in the Midlands village of Colston Bassett, Nottinghamshire. After travelling the world for some years cooking and eating and learning about life in the company of her husband, she started her art education in earnest in 2005 under the guidance of Michael Kitchen, a well-known Scottish artist. Michael was her tutor and mentor for 5 years.
Moving to Santa Fe, USA, Annette further developed her skills by attending the Tony Ryder Studio, a renowned classical painting and drawing Atelier. She has now returned to Scotland and specialises in trompe l’oeil (trick of the eye) the technique of painting photo realistic imagery to create an optical illusion. Annette’s work is in high demand and we are pleased to show her latest paintings at our gallery and at art fairs throughout the UK.
